At the age of 7, I was lucky enough to visit Paris and see Van Gogh’s ‘Bedroom in Arles’ in person. Since then, rooms and spaces with stories to tell have always interested me and I eventually found the tantalizing world of Production Design for screen and stage.
I have been based in Cork for the past 7 years. My first job was as a prop buyer closely followed by one of my biggest jobs to date, Production Designing a Feature Film set in the 1700’s. It was an unforgettable experience from a personal and a creative side. It really was a ‘sink or swim’ challenge but since then I have gone on to Design for close to 30 Short Films, 7 TG4/RTE Documentaries, Feature Films, Music videos, over a dozen Plays and a TV Pilot (in Post-Production).
I specialize in Production Design, Set design and Prop making; from breakaway bottles and fake documents to an electric chair, I have a varied background. As well as set building experience, I enjoy new design challenges and I’m always looking for opportunities to upskill and experiment.
I’ve worked within a variety of budgets and time-frames and would like to think for all I’ve seen and done so far; nothing is impossible.
